Sad Day

We went to meet the lawyer today, who was SUPPOSED to have already typed up the papers.  Well, I got there at 8:45 and Russ arrived at 9.  THe appointment was for 9.  The lady was supposed to have been there since 8:30.  She was not.  The office was closed.  Noone was answering the phone.  Just before ten the lady pulls up and says she has been trying to call me, but she must have written my number down wrong.  Ends up she has the stomach virus.  :(  She did not type up anything.  She gave us some paperwork to fill out.  She said she would type everything tomorrow.  This was after we both took off work to take care of this.  Frustrating.  The entire situation.  Simply frustrating.  Not that there is anything simple about it.  Or anything I can do about it.  Ya know, as if I wasn't nervous and stressed out enough, I have to go through it all over again.  That means leaving Reina with Tanya and getting off work.

Anyways, thank you to everyone that has been thinking and praying for us.  I really appreciate all of your kindness and support.  I love you guys!

Sick of this...

I just want to vent for a moment. I am already sick of hearing people complain about the election. Yes, people voted because of race. Yes, there are still many racists (of all races) in this country. No, they are not going away. I have heard so many people say that it is about time we had a black president, well... he isn't even black. Then people want to say that blacks have had it worse than anybody. Not sure about that, but I do know that they jave not been the only mistreated people. I have been ignored and mistreated simply because I am Mormon. Joseph Smith, the first latter-day prophet, was tarred and feathered because he shared his testimony and his witness of seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in addition to angels and apostles. He was killed because of his beliefs. The election is over, so what we need to do now is keep our families together, happy, and safe... which is what we should always do.

Gone Back to Work

I have gone back to work. I worked Monday 4-10. It was not too bad. We were really busy so I wasn't able to think too much about being away from Reina. However, tonight I work 1:30-10. That is a little bit longer of a shift. I don't like it. I don't like working. I have applied for a tutoring job, so I hope it works out. That way, I don't have to be at Walgreens too much. I just wish teachers made more. I knew they didn't make a lot, but I didn't realize it would be that little. Oh well, things will work out the way they are supposed to.

Reina has been asleep now for about 2 hours. She needs to wake up and eat before the in-laws come over to watch her and I head to work. Russ will be with her tonight, so maybe they can bond some more. He needs that. Wish us luck!

2 more weeks...

I know it has been awhile. I have been so busy getting know my little daughter. She slept through the night last night: 11:30pm to 8am. YAY! :D She is also taking a nap right now. Usually when she sleeps through the night, that means no nap. I think she must be really tired. Russ and I are trying to get on a set schedule for Reina, especially since I go back to work in 2 weeks. I am dreading that! I was just going to go back part time, but my sister has recently become engaged to a wonderful guy. However, the date is set for December 20. So, I plan on working more so we can go out to Utah for one of the receptions. She really wants us there, so we are going to try. That means I will be working about 30 hours a week so Russ won't have to pick Reina and myself up on insurance (extra $600) and to earn more to save. Walgreens really is not a bad place to work, I just don't want to leave my daughter... who is crying now. I will hopefully get more updating in later.

12 Days Old

When I was changing Reina's clothes this morning, she rolled over. I am not kidding. I had her down to her diaper and she kept 'rolling' onto her side. At one point she got almost over to her tummy but then fell back onto her back. Then, as if she finally realized what she was trying to do, she just rolled completely over to her stomach. I promise, I did not imagine it. She is learning so fast. I am definitely one proud Momma.

New Life

Reina Cherie Prince was born on September 4 at 5:09pm. She weighed 6 lbs 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. We are very happy to have her as a part of our lives. She brings a smile to everyone's face. She is beautiful and very happy. We thank our Heavenly Father for providing this wonderful child for us to raise and cherish.

Happy Birthday, Reina!

Today is the day! It is 6:20am, Russ is in the shower. We have planned to leave at 6:30 to make sure we get there on time, which is 7:15am. I'm not sure what all will be going on. Hopefully this will be a speedy induction, but it is in the Lord's hands. I am so grateful for everything He has done for us. I am also grateful for everyone else that has been there for us the past nine months. I know it has not been easy. ;) Anyways, I am so hungry since I couldn't eat anything past what I had for dinner last night. I'll try really hard not to be a grouch. Well, I need to push my husband along. I'll update as soon as I have a spare moment. Pictures will be up soon as well. I'm going to be a mom!!!

Good and Bad News

I went to the doctor Thursday. I was 1cm and 50% effaced. That was some progress! We set up a date to induce: Thursday, September 4 at 7:15am. Wow! That's early in the morning. The good news is that she will definitely be here in 5 days. The bad news: Sam and Jackie will be in Idaho by then. They leave Monday or Tuesday. I really wish Reina would just make up her mind and come already so that she can see her aunts. I feel a little selfish, but I am ready to have her here. I want to meet her and see what she looks like. I'm trying really hard to be patient. I guess the Lord is teaching me patience waiting on Reina. That reminds me of a quote I saw on a teacher's desk: "Lord, grant me patience, but please hurry." That makes me smile. That is exactly how I feel, too. So, anyways. We are going to Wal-mart now to stock up on some stuff. Have a great day!

2 Weeks

Two weeks. That's it, well I hope it is. I am so ready for Reina to be here. Her room is ready. She has all these cute little outfits to wear. She needs to be ready and COME ON! I'm becoming a little impatient and anxious. I know it is going to be hard work when she gets here, but I have been looking forward to this day since I don't know when. I have always wanted to be a mom. Ya know, 2 weeks really isn't that long. It's just that it has been long enough! Any one else feel like I do?

Date Night

So Russ and I went on a date last night. It's been like two years since we have had the time, etc. to do that. We had a really good time. We went to TGI Fridays, my favorite. Then went and killed time at Lenny's, then killed more time at Target. We went and saw The Dark Knight at 10pm. That is so late for me now, but it was REALLY good. Oh, we bought candy at Target... slightly cheaper. I'm really glad my husband took me out. We enjoyed it and it was nice getting out of the house.

It's Been Awhile...

Well, it's been a little while since I've been on here. We have pretty much settled into our home. We do have internet (and dish) now so I'll be on here A LOT more. We had the baby showers. Thank you to everyone who helped out. They were amazing!!! We have less than a month to go before the due date. We are crossing our fingers that they will induce at least a week early so Sam and Jackie will be able to see their niece. Also, I'm so ready to put that nursery to use! lol.

Russ has started his job at the high school. Kids won't be there until Thursday, but he did have Freshman Open House last night (Monday) and he does have a few Freshman. He will be teaching four US History classes and two Spanish classes. He is working on setting up his room in between in-service meetings this week. I'm so glad he got Spanish classes, and he, I think, has no clue what he is in for. Kids are a lot meaner and lazier than ever before, so I just hope they don't run him off because he is going to make a wonderful teacher.

Anyways, come see us at our new home!!! Ok, when we aren't at work...

Honey, We're Home!!!

Yes, it's official! We are in our house. We have actually been there about a week and a half now. Thanks to my mom and family, we were all unpacked by the second full day of living there. We have accquired a kitchen table, a sleeper sofa, and a love seat. (Thank you, John for your help moving the couches.) Oh, and thanks also for the window unit. It is already helping!
Anyways, our house is pretty much amazing so far. Of course, anything would be compared to apartment living. I'm so glad to be paying towards something that is MINE. Reina's room is coming along, and after this weekend I will be able to decorate more for her. Yay!!! anyways, i gotta go... tired...

Closing

We are closing on the house today!!!! We are soooo excited!!! We meet at the lawyers' office at 1:00 this afternoon... and well, I have been up since 6:00 this morning. That is not because I HAD to be up at that time, just simply becasue I could not fall back asleep. Right now, Alex and Russ are getting bins down from my mom's attic that will be moved today. After clsoing, we will move some furniture from Russ' parents' place and then relax! lol! We actually move everything else tomorrow. Thanks to lots of volunteers (hopefully) we will get everything moved. I appreciate everyone that has helped us in this transition and those that will be helping us as well. Love you guys!

Moving

We are moving into our house in 6 more days! I know that the few people that read this already know this (or live in Vegas). Just in case someone stumbles upon this information and feels the need to serve... we will be having a Move In Day on Wednesday, July 16. If you want to help, just call me or Russ any time that day. I can't lift anything, so I know Russ will be GREATLY appreciative with any help he can get.

After we move in, I'm sure we will eventually have a party or something to have everyone over. We LOVE to party, so any excuse is great. :)

Intro

To update everybody, we are pregnant, in case you did not know. We are 7 months along right now. Our due date is September 3 and we are expecting a little girl. Her name will be Reina Cherie Prince. She is very active, but not painful... thank goodness!

Before little Reina gets here, we will be moving into our first house. Closing date is July 15 at 1:00pm. The house is amazing!!! It is one story, 3 bedroom, 2 baths, floored attic, security system with a camera, and a surround sound system in the living room and outside! We will not have to paint or get new carpets.

Russ will be starting his new job on August 1st at Southaven High School. He will be teaching World History and U.S. History to 10th and 11th graders. He is also licensed to teach Spanish.

In case you are wondering, I did get my teaching license as well. However, due to the baby and personal decisions, I will be staying in the wonderful world of Walgreens for a little longer.

I hope we can keep this up. Please post comments and let me know if you have any questions!
